It gives me great pleasure as the President of the JFK Air Cargo Association to introduce you to our new site, jfkaircargo.net.
We will be redirecting from our old domain, jfkaircargo.org, so that anyone who is still using the old location is sent here without delay.
As your board, we are trusted with delivering value to our members and that is something we have sought to do with this new site.
With this new look comes a few changes, all for the positive. Here is just a brief list of what is different.
Job board and resume posting.
As much as we don't like turnover in our companies, it happens. And as much as our members hope that the job they have is for the long haul, we know that isn't always the case.
Member companies have the ability to post a job for thirty days with the details of the position and who to contact to apply. Individuals have the opportunity to upload their resume for members to see what individuals are available and looking for a new opportunity. The ability to post a job opening is limited to members; the ability to post resumes is universal.
Event Espresso instead of Cvent.
With the change to the new site, we have done away with the Cvent portal and platform. We will be sending email invitations for our luncheons and events using a platform called Mailchimp; you'll see the difference immediately.
Members will also be able to manage their accounts on our site now instead of through Cvent's platform. We think this will be very simple and straightforward.
Coming soon: Members only content.
We are always looking for new ways to create a premium on membership in the Association. One of those ways will be through the introduction of members-only content. This means that you'll need to be logged in with your username and password. In the future this could be reports from meetings or copies of presentations from our luncheon speakers and more. Pay attention because this one will evolve over time.
We welcome your feedback and suggestions.
This is not a one-way mirror or street. It is absolutely critical that you give us your feedback on how you feel this is working and what we can do to further enhance it with features and functionality.
I'd like to thank board members Ed Strauhs and Laura Cascino for their time and effort in bringing this new site forward. I would also like to thank our vendor on this project, Position : Global, who have done sites for other associations and logistics companies around the country as well. Knowing our industry made the job easier for Ed & Laura and Scott and his team at Position : Global were great partners and will continue to work with us and help maintain the site in the future.
